Sampah Watch: Turning Waste into Verified Climate Action
Sampah Watch: Turning Waste into Verified Climate Action

In partnership with PT Centra Rekayasa Enviro (CRE)

A National Platform for Circular Economy and Verified Carbon Reduction

Sampah Watch is an Indonesian-born innovation platform transforming how waste management, circular economy, and carbon accounting converge into one integrated system. Founded in collaboration with our holding company PT Centra Rekayasa Enviro (CRE)—a leading environmental engineering company—Sampah Watch aims to bring traceable, verifiable, and economically sustainable waste solutions to communities, industries, and local governments.

By merging IoT-based waste traceability, blockchain verification, and ESG-compliant reporting, Sampah Watch ensures every ton of waste diverted from landfills contributes transparently to carbon emission reduction under Indonesia’s National Registry System (SRN-PPI) and aligns with international standards such as ISO 14064 and Verra VCS (Voluntary Carbon Standard).

From Waste to Resource, from Local Action to Global Impact

The Sampah Watch ecosystem works with community-based waste facilities (TPSTs), recyclers, and municipal partners to transform waste streams into measurable climate assets. This includes:

  • Material Recovery & Recycling – Sorting and processing plastics, paper, glass, and metals for reintegration into the circular economy.
  • Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) Production – Converting residual organic waste into alternative fuel for cement and energy industries.
  • Carbon & Plastic Credit Certification – Quantifying avoided emissions and circular diversion rates validated through SRN and international verification bodies.
  • Digital Transparency – Each batch of waste processed is tracked, audited, and verifiable through blockchain-based QR systems, ensuring data integrity from source to credit issuance.

Through its ongoing projects in Denpasar (Bali Waste Cycle), Bandung (Ingram TPST), and Banyumas (Zero Landfill Model), Sampah Watch has already demonstrated how waste can evolve from a local burden into a verifiable sustainability asset contributing to Indonesia’s Net Zero 2060 commitment.

Bridging Policy, Technology, and Climate Finance

Sampah Watch integrates directly into Indonesia’s regulatory and carbon market frameworks, referencing:

  • Presidential Regulation No. 98/2021 on the Carbon Economic Value (NEK);
  • Ministerial Regulation No. 21/2022 on the implementation of the NEK mechanism; and
  • The Indonesian Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Certification Scheme (SPEI, 2023).

By aligning its monitoring and reporting with these frameworks, Sampah Watch enables local governments and private operators to participate in verified carbon programs, both in the domestic SPEI registry and international voluntary carbon markets (VCM).

International Collaboration and Future Vision

As an ecosystem partner of PT Hadde Prolifik Internasional, Sampah Watch represents Indonesia’s readiness to engage with international investors, climate funds, and impact-driven organizations seeking scalable, transparent, and verifiable environmental projects.

With its integrated approach, Sampah Watch positions Indonesia not only as a regional leader in sustainable waste management, but also as a credible carbon economy actor aligned with global initiatives under the Paris Agreement and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
